Witherspoon elaborated that the intention is to "build with this character" and that there is a strong audience desire to celebrate female figures from their childhood. She emphasized that Elle Woods represents more than just fashion, embodying self-worth and accomplishment.

While the prospect of a third movie is alive, Witherspoon did not indicate if Legally Blonde 3 is currently in active development. She is, however, involved as a producer for a new prequel series centered on the character, titled 'Elle.' This series suggests continued interest in the Legally Blonde universe.
