Lea Michele Open to Glee Reboot

Lea Michele has publicly stated her willingness to participate in a potential Glee reboot, a possibility that series co-creator Ryan Murphy has recently acknowledged considering. Murphy expressed that the show's resurgence in popularity among younger audiences makes a revisit appealing.

Michele conveyed her enduring affection for the series and her loyalty to Murphy, saying she would "follow Ryan wherever he goes" regarding a new project. Glee, which aired from 2009 to 2015, was a critical and commercial success, launching the careers of its stars.

Despite the interest from Michele and Murphy, not all former cast members are eager for a return. Amber Riley, who portrayed Mercedes Jones, has firmly declined the idea. She believes the original show's magic was unique and does not want to "risk trying to reinvent the wheel."

Riley also cited the significant losses the cast has endured, including the deaths of Cory Monteith in 2013, Mark Salling in 2018, and Naya Rivera in 2020, as factors that have altered the show's original dynamic and chemistry.
