Singer Lauren Bennett, who gained fame for her contribution to LMFAO's 2011 chart-topping song "Party Rock Anthem," has died. Her former bandmates from the group G.R.L. announced her passing, expressing deep sorrow.
The former colleagues shared that Bennett's beautiful spirit touched many lives and that she would be dearly missed. Reports indicated her age was around 37, though a cause of death has not been disclosed.
Bennett also had a musical career with the international girl group Paradiso Girls, known for their 2009 hit "Patron Tequila." Additionally, she embarked on a solo career in 2010, with support from artists like CeeLo Green.
G.R.L. itself experienced tragedy before, losing bandmate Simone Battle to suicide in 2014. The group, founded by choreographer Robin Antin, aimed to emulate the success of the Pussycat Dolls, and both groups were creations of Antin. G.R.L. disbanded in 2015.
An inquest into Bennett's death is scheduled to take place in October.
