Pan Nalin's award-winning Gujarati-language drama, 'Last Film Show,' will premiere in French cinemas on June 10, distributed by Friday Entertainment. The film, known internationally as 'Chhello Show,' previously served as India's submission for the 95th Academy Awards and garnered significant recognition at various global festivals. Studiocanal is handling its release in France, aiming for a broad reach across more than 100 screens.
The narrative centers on Samay, a young boy in Gujarat, whose life is deeply intertwined with his local cinema. His world is challenged by the transition from 35mm to digital projection, threatening his cherished moviegoing experiences. The film draws inspiration from director Pan Nalin's own childhood memories.
Having already achieved a successful theatrical run in over 50 countries, 'Last Film Show' continues its international journey.
