Larian Studios surprised fans at The Game Awards 2025 by unveiling their highly anticipated next project: a new installment in the beloved Divinity series. Titled Divinity, this upcoming game is set to be Larian's most ambitious undertaking to date, boasting "more breadth and depth than ever before," according to host Geoff Keighley.
The announcement marks Larian's return to the series that initially propelled them to fame, following their highly successful detour with Baldur's Gate III. Rumors of a new Divinity game had been circulating, further fueled by a peculiar statue spotted in the Mojave Desert that bore a striking resemblance to a recently trademarked Divinity logo.
The reveal was preceded by a captivating live performance and showcased a dark, gruesome trailer. The imagery evoked The Wicker Man, featuring effigies engulfed in flames. While specific plot details remain under wraps, the trailer's intense visuals suggest a departure into darker themes for the series.
