The program will be offered free of charge to students. It is designed to provide training for various entry-level positions within television production, including production assistants, coordinators, assistant directors, and producers.
Participants will also gain real-world exposure through field trips to television productions. The curriculum emphasizes industry education, practical production training, professional mentorship, and direct experience to build student confidence and career connections.
Television Academy board governor Donny Hugo Herran will lead the program as its inaugural instructor. The program will operate out of YMCA facilities in Boyle Heights and Long Beach, aiming to foster a more dynamic and representative entertainment industry.
