Many submissions focused on the extensive local coverage of these natural disasters, showcasing the region's response and impact.
The L.A. Area Emmy Awards celebrate excellence in locally produced programs across various genres. These include Crime and Social Issues, Culture and History, the Arts, Human Interest, Sports, the Environment, and Live and Breaking News Coverage. Station newscast awards consider all eligible submissions.
Last year, PBS SoCal was a major winner. Telemundo's KVEA-TV also received significant recognition, securing all three station awards for best newscasts in the morning, daytime, and evening slots.
