The 60th edition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF) is preparing a significant transformation of its core festival space. Organizers are redesigning the area around the Hotel Thermal's Grand Hall entrance to enhance the audience's experience during ceremonies and screenings. This includes extending the iconic red carpet to be approximately three times larger than in the last two decades, embodying a 'red carpet for everybody' philosophy.
The festival leadership has dedicated nearly ten months to planning this reconfiguration, aiming to create a more immersive and shared atmosphere. Beyond the physical changes, the festival highlights the crucial role of its approximately 1,500 volunteers and staff. These individuals, often taking vacation time from their regular professions, contribute their efforts out of dedication to the Czech Republic's prominent film event.
