This collaboration signifies the first official joint effort between the Dogg Pound rapper and the esteemed producer in over twenty years, harkening back to Kurupt's 1998 debut solo album, "Kuruption!". Snoop Dogg played a pivotal role, not only as a friend and collaborator but also as the executive producer, releasing the album through his Death Row imprint.
Battlecat described the album's vibe as reminiscent of legendary duos like Gang Starr and Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, highlighting the unique chemistry between Kurupt and himself. The album also features a previously surfaced track, "Mystic River," which has now received its official release, adding a layer of historical significance to the project.
