Industry Grieves: Kuku Kohli's Prayer Meet Honors Filmmaker

Several prominent figures from the Indian film industry convened in Mumbai on August 29 for the prayer meeting of renowned filmmaker Kuku Kohli. The gathering, held at the Celebration Sports Club in Andheri West, served as a final tribute to Kohli.

Among the notable attendees were actors Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif, who had also attended Kohli's funeral. Anil Kapoor was present, offering his condolences to Kohli's wife, veteran actor Aruna Irani, who was deeply emotional. Other film personalities like Jackie Shroff, Anupam Kher, Rajpal Yadav, and Asha Parekh also paid their respects.

Kuku Kohli, born Avtar Kohli, passed away on August 25 at the age of 77 following a heart attack. He was best known for directing Ajay Devgn's blockbuster debut, 'Phool Aur Kaante'. Prior to his directorial ventures, Kohli had a significant stint assisting legendary filmmaker Raj Kapoor for eleven years.

Kohli's health suddenly deteriorated, leading to his hospitalization in Mumbai. Despite undergoing an angioplasty after suffering a mild heart attack, his condition worsened, and he succumbed to cardiac arrest on August 25, with his wife Aruna Irani by his side.
