- Composer Max Richter created three musical pieces inspired by the wines.
- The collaboration aimed to translate wine's texture and structure into sound.

Champagne house Krug unveiled a unique collaboration, turning its 2008 vintage into a musical score. Cellar master Julie Cavil partnered with composer Max Richter for the "Every Note Counts" series. Three original musical works by Richter were composed to correspond with Krug Clos d'Ambonnay 2008, Krug 2008, and Krug Grande Cuvée 164ème Édition.
Richter immersed himself in Krug's vineyards and cellars to inspire his compositions. He explored questions like "What does a bubble sound like?" to translate the wine's effervescence and complexity into music. The resulting pieces, "Clarity," "Ensemble," and "Sinfonia," aim to capture the essence of each Champagne.
The collaboration resonated with Krug's philosophy of honoring tradition while reinterpreting it, mirroring the classical yet distinct nature of the 2008 vintage. This multisensory event featured live orchestral performances and wine tastings, offering a unique sensory experience. A documentary chronicling the project is also available online.
