Kroi's "SPIN" Hits Billboard After JoJo Anime Opening

Kroi's electrifying new song, "SPIN," has made its debut on the Billboard charts, coinciding with its role as the opening theme for Steel Ball Run: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. This original track, released on October 10, 2026, landed at No. 44 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, a significant milestone for the band.

Inspired by the anime's Old West setting and Kroi's signature funk sound, "SPIN" was crafted to evoke a sense of relentless forward motion through an uncharted wilderness. Vocalist Leo Uchida described the concept as pushing toward an unseen goal, a feeling mirrored in the creative process and the narrative of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

The band infused the song with diverse influences, including the cinematic feel of Ennio Morricone and the foundational sounds of The Ventures, a nod to Uchida's musical roots. Guitarist Yuki Hasebe contributed guitar work evoking deserted landscapes, while bassist Masanori Seki focused on maintaining momentum and unique nuances.

Keyboardist Daiki Chiba prioritized rhythmic phrasing for momentum, and the final mix was handled by Nathan Boddy. "SPIN" is noted for its complex layers and dynamic shifts, embodying the peculiar yet captivating nature of Japanese anime songs, creating a unique auditory experience that connects Kroi's sound with the world of Steel Ball Run.
