Summary
- Head survived a deadly rip current incident where her boyfriend drowned.
- She agreed to film '16 & Pregnant' despite immense grief.
- A magazine falsely implied she caused her boyfriend's death before her episode aired.

Kristina Head initially hesitated to join '16 & Pregnant,' feeling she lacked sufficient 'trauma' to share. However, life presented unimaginable challenges.
While approximately 12 weeks pregnant, Head and her boyfriend Todd Hight were caught in a rip current during a vacation. Head survived, but Hight tragically drowned.
Despite the devastating loss and the prospect of raising her child alone, Head was encouraged by producers to continue with the show. She agreed, hoping it would help provide for her family.
Before her episode aired, Head was shocked to see her and Hight's photos in a magazine falsely implying she was responsible for his death. This occurred without her input, leaving her feeling powerless.
Her '16 & Pregnant' episode later documented her grief as she became a mother to son Lukas. She has since remarried and has two more sons.
