In a recent interview published on November 3, 2025, Kristin Chenoweth addressed the long-standing rumors of a feud between her and her Wicked co-star Idina Menzel. The two actresses originated the roles of Glinda and Elphaba, respectively, in the 2003 Broadway production of the hit musical.
Chenoweth, now 57 years old, explained that the whispers of a rift between the two stemmed from their contrasting working styles. "We are so different in the way we do our process that of course rumors are going to fly, right?" she told The Hollywood Reporter. However, Chenoweth was quick to dismiss these rumors, likening their relationship to that of sisters.
"We would die for each other. So it's like sisters. Are sisters always perfect? So it's family. That's the best way I can describe it," Chenoweth said. This is not the first time the actress has compared her Wicked experience to being part of a family, having previously noted the close bond she shared with Menzel despite their differences.
The two performers were even nominated against each other for Best Lead Actress in a Musical at the 2004 Tony Awards, with Menzel ultimately winning the award. But Chenoweth insists that their competitive spirit never interfered with their deep affection and respect for one another.
