In October 2025, French director Quentin Dupieux is set to release his latest film, "Full Phil," which has attracted a star-studded cast including Kristen Stewart and Woody Harrelson. The English-language production, which is being handled internationally by Studiocanal, will be distributed in France by Diaphana and has been pre-bought by Canal+.
The film follows a wealthy American industrialist, Philip Doom (Harrelson), who attempts to reconnect with his daughter Madeleine (Stewart) during a luxurious trip to Paris. However, their smooth stay is disrupted by "French cuisine, a 1950s horror film and an intrusive hotel employee," according to the synopsis.
Dupieux, known for his absurdist and quirky sense of humor, is no stranger to working with prestigious American actors. His previous film, "The Second Act," which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2024, was a commercial success in France, selling over 500,000 tickets. The film's ability to tackle sensitive topics like the #MeToo era with a bold and humorous approach has generated excitement among American actors, who are eager to collaborate with the iconoclastic filmmaker.
"It's wild -- Quentin's films are extremely popular with the coolest American actors," said producer Hugo Selignac, whose company Chi-Fou-Mi is part of Mediawan. "When we send them Quentin's films, they're struck, because when you look at American comedy today, it's a bit dead."
"Full Phil" marks the eighth collaboration between Dupieux and Selignac in the past six years, further solidifying their successful partnership. The film is expected to continue Dupieux's tradition of delivering unique and entertaining cinematic experiences to audiences around the world.
