KPop Demon Hunters: Physical Release Announced!

KPop Demon Hunters, the acclaimed animated musical that first premiered on Netflix almost a year ago, is now set for a physical release. This comprehensive edition will be available on DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra HD, offering fans their first opportunity to own the film outside of streaming services. This follows a brief theatrical run last summer and a sing-along version last fall.

While specific details are emerging, Criterion Collection releases typically feature bonus content and enhanced audio-visual presentations. Anticipated additions may include deleted scenes, such as a subplot inspired by Korea's 'Idol Star Athletics Championships,' a K-pop idol competition. Previous Criterion editions have included cast commentaries and making-of documentaries, underscoring their commitment to preserving and enhancing the art of film.

This physical release is particularly noteworthy as Netflix films seldom receive such editions, let alone a Criterion Collection release. KPop Demon Hunters, already recognized as Netflix's most-viewed original title, also secured two Oscars: Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for its hit track, 'Golden.' New trading card packs are also available, offering collectors a chance to obtain rare 'Golden' cards.
