Announced on Tuesday, this collaboration will see Primary Wave working closely with Bell on his vast catalog of music and recordings. The agreement also encompasses the development of new opportunities related to his name, image, and likeness.
Under this partnership, Bell will gain access to Primary Wave's comprehensive marketing and publishing resources. This includes expertise in digital strategy, licensing, music synchronization, and film/TV production. Warner Chappell will continue to administer the catalog. Bell's contributions to Kool & the Gang include crafting numerous R&B and pop classics throughout the 1970s and 80s.
The band's impressive achievements include selling over 70 million albums globally, earning two Grammy Awards, seven American Music Awards, and induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2018 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2024.
