An evening dedicated to classical music, titled 'Rang,' unfolded at the KCC Amphitheatre, celebrating the vibrant spirit of Holi. The program opened with a tabla performance, 'Taaltarang,' by students of Tanmoy Bose, who demonstrated mastery in Teentaal across various tempos to an engaged audience.
The highlight of the festival was the enchanting performance by celebrated vocalist Sunanda Sharma, an exponent of the Banaras Gharana. She presented a repertoire rooted in classical ragas like Puriya Kalyan and Vasant, gracefully transitioning into traditional forms such as Tappa, Chaiti, and Bhajan, all resonating with the festive theme of 'Rang.'
Sharma's performance was complemented by the sensitive accompaniment of Sandip Ghosh on tabla and Debashish Adhikary on harmonium. The collaboration enhanced the musical experience, leaving the audience captivated by the fusion of talent and festive celebration.
