The city will soon experience a vibrant fusion of art forms as the Yapanchitra Foundation and the Kolkata International Foundation for Arts, Literature and Culture present the inaugural multidisciplinary arts festival. Scheduled to take place from February 26 to March 1, the event promises a rich program.
Attendees can anticipate international poetry recitations, diverse dance performances, and the traditional storytelling art of dastangoi. The festival will also include interactive art workshops, film screenings, and engaging theatre performances, creating a dynamic platform for artistic exchange.
Notable artists like Samir Aich and Sanatan Dinda will participate in a four-day annual art workshop running throughout the festival. A key initiative announced is a monthly fellowship of Rs 5,000 for one year, aimed at supporting art practitioners and breaking down isolation between artistic domains.
The festival's opening will feature an exhibition at the KIFALC Centre, with cultural luminaries such as Mallika Prasad and Jawhar Sircar in attendance. Events are slated to be held at the KIFALC Centre, Sisir Mancha, and Nandan 3.
