The second season of HBO's 'Game of Thrones' prequel, 'Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,' is expanding its cast. Lucy Boynton, known for 'Bohemian Rhapsody,' will portray Lady Rohanne of Coldmoat, also known as the Red Widow. Babou Ceesay, from 'Alien: Earth,' joins as Ser Bennis of the Brown Shield, and Peter Mullan of 'Westworld' will play Ser Eustace Osgrey of Standfast in the Reach.
These new additions will join returning actors Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan "Dunk" the Tall and Dexter Sol Ansell as Egg. The upcoming season draws inspiration from George R.R. Martin's novella, 'The Sworn Sword.' Production for season two is slated to occur in Spain, a location previously utilized for 'Game of Thrones' episodes. Showrunner Ira Parker noted that season two will consist of six episodes, with a similar scope but potentially higher costs due to inflation and the need for a sunny filming location for drought-related scenes.
The series has achieved significant viewership, with its debut season finale earning series-high ratings. Averaging 14 million U.S. viewers across all platforms and 26 million worldwide, 'Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' continues to build on the 'Thrones'-verse success. This casting news follows recent announcements, including a 'Game of Thrones' movie focusing on Aegon I Targaryen's conquest, written by Beau Willimon.
