Kit Harington Reopens Door for Jon Snow Series

Actor Kit Harington recently shared that he feels more at ease with the character of Jon Snow and the associated world, following the cancellation of a planned spinoff in 2024. Harington discussed this on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, recalling the initial confusion he experienced due to the immense success of Game of Thrones. He felt a need for space and to explore other roles, which he has now done over several years, stating he no longer feels defined solely by Jon Snow.

Despite the spinoff's development being halted, Harington had previously left the door ajar for a future return. He now indicates a greater willingness to revisit the character and the world. Harington explained that both he and HBO, along with George R.R. Martin, were committed to only proceeding if the right story was found, and he ultimately felt the initial concept wasn't quite there. The potential series, with Jon Snow as its working title, first gained public attention in June 2022. At a convention in December 2022, Harington mused on Jon Snow's fate, viewing his exile to the Wall as both a gift and a curse.
