Kino Lorber has secured the North American distribution rights to Arnaud Desplechin's latest drama, "Two Pianos." The film, which features a notable cast including François Civil, Nadia Tereszkiewicz, and the acclaimed Charlotte Rampling, has generated significant interest.
"Two Pianos" made its international debut at the Toronto International Film Festival. It is set to have its U.S. premiere on March 5 at the Rendez-Vous with French Cinema event, with director Desplechin expected to attend. This event marks a key moment before the film's wider release.
Following its U.S. premiere, Kino Lorber intends to launch "Two Pianos" in theaters during the spring season. A subsequent rollout across digital platforms, educational channels, and home video is planned. The narrative follows Mathias Vogler, a once-gifted pianist who returns to France after years of absence, drawn back by his former mentor for a series of concerts.
Director Arnaud Desplechin expressed his gratitude for the distribution deal, highlighting his long-held desire to create an "impossible love story." He described "Two Pianos" as an intimate exploration of regrets, music, and homecoming. The film's soundtrack features works by Chopin, Bartok, and Bruch, complemented by a score from Grégoire Hetzel. Cinematography is handled by Paul Guilhaume.
