During the week of February 16-22, which included the peak Lunar New Year holiday, "The King's Warden" held the top position at the South Korean box office. The historical drama, directed by Jang Hang-jun, secured a commanding 73.76% of the revenue share during the three-day holiday weekend.
"The King's Warden" grossed $9.5 million from 1.4 million admissions over the weekend. This performance brings its cumulative total to $39.1 million from over 5.8 million admissions since its release on February 4. The film chronicles a village chief's efforts to protect a deposed teenage king during the Joseon Dynasty.
Following in popularity was the espionage thriller "Humint," which earned $1.7 million over the weekend, reaching a cumulative $11 million. "Choir of God," a musical drama, took third place, adding to its total of $8.9 million. New entries included the horror film "App the Horror" and animated feature "Jumbo."
