Producer Naga Vamsi has officially announced the cancellation of the proposed sequel to the 2025 action thriller Kingdom, starring Vijay Deverakonda. Vamsi confirmed that 'there is no Kingdom 2,' indicating that the franchise will not proceed as initially planned.
Despite shelving the sequel, the producer emphasized that the collaboration with director Gowtam Tinnanuri will continue. Tinnanuri is currently working on a different film, and a future project is planned after its completion. Notably, Vamsi also revealed that a separate film with Tinnanuri, titled Magic, has already finished production and is awaiting release.
The original Kingdom, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, featured Vijay Deverakonda as a conflicted police officer undertaking a high-risk undercover mission. The film was initially known as VD12 during its development and was envisioned to launch a larger franchise. Vijay Deverakonda is slated to appear in the action genre again with Rowdy Janardhana, scheduled for a 2026 release.
