King Charles recently visited Aviva Studios in Manchester, the home of Factory International. During his visit, he connected with young people who have benefited from support provided by the King's Trust. Aspiring DJ Christian St Louis, 22, from Middleton, invited the King to experience DJing, offering him guidance.
Mr. St Louis explained the process of mixing tracks, with the King humorously noting the complexity of the buttons while attempting to find his rhythm. He emphasized the positive impact of DJing courses offered through the trust, stating they were more than helpful and boosted his confidence. The King's Trust has partnered with the Elba Hope Foundation to launch Creative Futures, offering free arts-based courses.
Further engagement included meeting Mariama Gallow, 19, from Manchester, who recited her original poetry for the King. She had previously undertaken a creative music course and explored health and social care. The King also met young participants of the Factory Academy, learning skills in stage construction for live events. The Factory Academy, launched by Factory International in 2018, aims to create career pathways in creative industries and has collaborated with the King's Trust on Creative Futures programs.
