- Kimmel introduced a new mocking nickname for the president.
On Monday, October 12, Jimmy Kimmel responded to Donald Trump's recent remarks. Trump, speaking at a rally in Clarksville, Tennessee, on Saturday, October 10, had labeled Kimmel a "crooked loser."
Kimmel showcased clips from Trump's speech on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," sarcastically introducing the segment by saying, "President Pumpkin McButthurt took a break from complaining." Trump's comments stemmed from Kimmel's previous jokes about his "sparsely attended" rallies.
During his monologue, Kimmel questioned why Trump was bothered by his observations of empty seats rather than more serious criticisms. He presented images of vacant spots at various rallies, humorously noting that "empty seats at the rally where he complained about me saying he had empty seats at the rally!"
Kimmel concluded by comparing the attendance at Trump's rallies to the president's "cognitive function, not at full capacity." This exchange occurred in the recent past relative to the current date of Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
