Summary
- Kiana takes on new role in 17th precinct after Voight's unit sidelined
- Voight fights to reinstate his team after investigation into deputy chief's death
- Actress Turner leaving Chicago PD after one impactful season

As of October 2nd, 2025, Kiana, a former tactical officer, has taken on a new role in the 17th precinct of the Chicago Police Department. This comes as a result of Voight's Intelligence Unit being put on the back burner following an investigation into his involvement in the death of Deputy Chief Charlie Reid.
Voight, the leader of the Intelligence Unit, is fighting to get his team back to business before they lose any more of their colleagues. However, the new boss in town, Commander Devlin, has declined to reinstate the unit, even though they have been cleared in the matter concerning Reid's death.
In a separate development, actress Nicole Ari Parker, who portrayed the character of Kiana, is leaving the show after just one season. Parker joined the cast of Chicago PD in 2024, making her debut early in Season 12. Her character, Kiana, caught the attention of the Intelligence Unit after helping them catch the killer of their latest addition, Detective Emily Martel. Kiana was later recruited by Voight himself.
Parker expressed her gratitude for the experience, stating that her time on Chicago PD "challenged [her], sharpened [her], and revealed what [she's] made of." She further added that she's "walking away with depth, clarity, and momentum for whatever comes next."
