Actor-politician Khushbu Sundar recently voiced strong opposition to the relentless scrutiny women face concerning their age, physical appearance, and bodies. She extended her support to actress Katrina Kaif, questioning the societal double standards applied to aging women compared to men. Khushbu pointed out that while men are often described as distinguished or handsome with age, women are subjected to public judgment about their looks and weight. She described how society questions a woman's 'prime' and expects her to remain unchanged from when she was first found beautiful. Khushbu reflected on her personal journey, including experiencing ridicule for her weight and subsequent comments about weight loss, highlighting the impossible standards women face. She emphasized the profound physical, hormonal, and emotional changes women undergo, particularly after childbirth, stating that these transformations should be celebrated rather than leading to intensified criticism of their appearance. Sundar advised Katrina Kaif to continue living life with dignity and self-respect, asserting that women are not accountable to those who seek to define them.
