A magnificent 42-meter cedarwood boat belonging to Egypt's King Khufu is now on display at the Grand Egyptian Museum, where its reassembly is taking place live for visitors. This vessel joins its already assembled twin, offering a unique glimpse into ancient Egyptian craftsmanship. King Khufu, who ruled over 4,500 years ago, commissioned the Great Pyramid of Giza. The purpose of these solar boats remains a subject of speculation, with theories suggesting they were for his funeral or his voyage with the sun god Ra in the afterlife.
The Grand Egyptian Museum, a $1 billion facility inaugurated last month, houses nearly 50,000 artifacts, including King Tutankhamun's treasures. Located near the pyramids, the museum aims to significantly boost Egypt's tourism and economy.
