The 'Khalifa' franchise is expanding with its sequel, now officially titled 'Khalifa 2 - The Legacy.' The first installment, released on August 20, 2026, was directed by Vysakh and starred Prithviraj Sukumaran. This initial film introduced the family history of Aamir Ali and his grandfather, Mambaraykkal Ahmad Ali.

The upcoming sequel, 'Khalifa 2 - The Legacy,' will reportedly place significant emphasis on Mohanlal's character, Mambaraykkal Ahmad Ali. Prithviraj Sukumaran is confirmed to reprise his role as Mambaraykkal Aamir Ali, whose journey in the first film shifted from a textile business to involvement in contraband.

While the screenplay is penned by Jinu V Abraham and cinematography by Jomon T John, further production details and the complete cast for 'Khalifa 2 - The Legacy' remain undisclosed.
