Sorbo: Hollywood Conservatives Live in Fear

Kevin Sorbo has definitively ended his ties to California, nearly seven years after relocating to Florida. The "Hercules" star expressed no desire to return, citing high taxes, excessive traffic, and a pervasive negativity as primary deterrents. Sorbo noted that Florida offers a sense of acceptance that he felt was diminishing in California.

While Sorbo misses aspects of his former life in California, he believes the trade-offs are not worthwhile. He indicated that his production company, Sorbo Studios, has been embraced by the independent film community, leading to numerous collaborations. He also criticized the entertainment industry for what he perceives as the "blacklisting" of individuals with conservative or Christian viewpoints, likening such actions to immature behavior.

Sorbo encourages other conservatives in Hollywood to be more open about their beliefs, suggesting that some have become reticent due to witnessing others face professional repercussions. He stated, "I'm still working," implying that outspokenness does not necessarily halt career progression.

His latest film, "Elijah Peel," is a faith-based drama inspired by a true story. Sorbo stars as the talent manager of a rock star grappling with addiction and a near-fatal heart attack, whose journey is influenced by a young girl's faith. He believes films like this indicate a strong, existing audience for faith-based content outside of traditional Hollywood.

Sorbo also emphasized the importance of his family, including his nearly three-decade marriage to his wife, Sam, and their three children. The couple are proponents of homeschooling, which they credit for their children's positive development.
