Kevin Morby is preparing to launch his latest musical endeavor, "Little Wide Open," scheduled for release on May 15.
This new album is distinguished by its production helmed by Aaron Dessner, a key figure in The National. "Little Wide Open" also features a remarkable lineup of guest artists, including the acclaimed Justin Vernon, Katie Gavin from Muna, Amelia Meath of Sylvan Esso, and the legendary Lucinda Williams.
The album's lead single, "Javelin," has been accompanied by a music video starring Morby and comedian Caleb Hearon, with a cameo from Waxahatchee's Katie Crutchfield. Morby described the song as being about the complexities of a long-distance love, highlighting Amelia Meath's significant vocal contributions.
Accompanying the album is an essay titled "Field Guide to the North American Troubadour," penned by Rachel Kushner. To promote "Little Wide Open," Morby will commence an extensive tour in May, which is slated to continue through mid-July, covering both Europe and North America.
