Summary
- Gallery reopens after more than five years of closure.

The Alfred East Art Gallery in Kettering, Northamptonshire, is preparing for its first public opening in over five years. The gallery, closed since mid-2021 for redevelopment, is now ready to welcome visitors once more. This comes after necessary roof repairs were completed in 2023 following water damage.
The upcoming exhibition, titled "Prelude," will be held in the newly developed Garden Room extension. This initial display, running from September 5th to October 2nd, will feature the work of six local artists, including Charlotte Ashman, Samantha Brockway, Serena Durgheu, Rosie Jarvis, Simon Loach, and Teresa Williams.
"Prelude" will bring together painting, printmaking, collage, and photography, showcasing diverse individual styles. The gallery, part of the Cornerstone cultural hub, is set to fully reopen to coincide with Northamptonshire Day, offering a flexible space for future exhibitions and workshops.
