In a statement shared by the Korea Times, the members of NewJeans have stated that they "respect the court's judgment, but it is impossible to return to this company and continue normal entertainment activities in the current situation where the trust relationship with ADOR is completely shattered." The group had previously attempted to rebrand as "NJZ" and debut a new song, "Pit Stop," before ADOR challenged their use of the new name.
The legal battle between NewJeans and ADOR is reminiscent of Kesha's own decade-long struggle with her former producer, Dr. Luke, which also involved competing lawsuits and the pop star's efforts to be released from her contract.
