Kerry Condon Shares Filming Secrets from Formula One Drama with Brad Pitt

In a recent interview, Irish actress Kerry Condon provided a glimpse into the making of the upcoming Formula One drama starring Brad Pitt. Condon, who plays the role of technician Kate McKenna opposite Pitt's maverick driver Sonny Hayes, had to overcome several challenges to bring her character to life.

One of the biggest hurdles for Condon was getting up to speed on the technical aspects of racing, which she admits were her "worst subjects in school." She had to learn about the physics and mathematics involved in Formula One, a task she found daunting at times. However, Condon was determined to prove her worth, saying, "I can change a tire, I'm a great driver."

Condon also had a particularly difficult scene where she had to deliver a "brutal home truth" to Pitt's character, telling him that "Sonny Hayes isn't a has-been, he's a never-was." The actress recalled feeling the pressure to nail the scene, as she was worried about being recast if she didn't perform well. Ultimately, the first take ended up being the one used in the final cut.

Despite the challenges, Condon embraced the fast-paced, "non-princessy vibe" of the production, which often had the crew "infiltrating" real racing events around the world to capture the action. The actress credits her theater background for helping her adapt to the live, high-stakes nature of the filming.
