The upcoming film, 'The Kerala Story 2 - Goes Beyond,' is slated for release on February 27. Producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah has assured that the filming process was peaceful and did not face any disruptions. He explained that while the team always prioritizes security, extra measures were implemented for this particular movie due to its sensitive religious theme, ensuring the safety of all artists and crew members.
Shah dismissed rumors of a heavily guarded set, stating that security is a standard protocol, similar to their action films. He acknowledged that threats were received during the release of the first film in 2023 but expressed confidence that such issues would not recur. The sequel, directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh, continues the narrative of three Hindu girls and explores themes of identity, belief, and religious conflict.
The original 'The Kerala Story,' released last year, focused on the radicalization of women in Kerala. It garnered significant attention and awards, including Best Direction and Best Cinematography at the 71st National Film Awards. The sequel's teaser hints at a tense storyline involving love as a weapon and belief becoming a battleground.
