Kerala High Court Lifts Ban on 'The Kerala Story 2'
27 Feb
Summary
- High Court cleared the film's release on Friday.
- A previous interim stay on the film was overturned.
- The film received UA certification from the CBFC.

The Division Bench of the Kerala High Court has granted clearance for the theatrical release of 'The Kerala Story 2', a film that had faced controversy. This decision was made on Friday, following an appeal by the film's producer, Vipul Amrutlal Shah.
Previously, a single judge had imposed a 15-day interim stay on the film's release, despite its prior certification by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The controversy stemmed from a petition alleging that the film portrayed Kerala and its people negatively and promoted harmful stereotypes. The court had also initially criticized the CBFC for its certification process, citing concerns that the film's teaser and trailer could risk communal harmony.
