Kerala Court Orders Release of Actor Dulquer Salmaan's Impounded Car
17 Oct
Summary
- Dulquer Salmaan's Land Rover seized in customs crackdown
- Vehicle to be released on bank guarantee with restrictions
- Customs raided 30+ locations, seized 36 luxury vehicles

On 2025-10-17T12:13:27+00:00, the Kerala High Court ordered the Customs Department to release actor Dulquer Salmaan's Land Rover, which was seized last month as part of Operation Numkhor, a crackdown on luxury vehicles allegedly smuggled into India.
The court's directive came after Dulquer Salmaan submitted all relevant documents to the Customs authorities. Following the court's order, the Customs Department has now decided to release the vehicle on a bank guarantee, but with the condition that it cannot be taken outside Kerala.
The luxury car was initially impounded during Operation Numkhor, an investigation into imported vehicles that were allegedly violating customs norms. The Customs Department raided over 30 locations across Kerala and seized a total of 36 luxury vehicles, which were believed to have been smuggled from Bhutan and re-registered in India using forged or manipulated documentation.
In its directive, the High Court made it clear that while the ongoing investigation cannot be interfered with, the Customs authority must issue a reasoned order if the application for provisional release is rejected.
