The Performing Arts Center at Kent State University at Tuscarawas is set to dazzle audiences with its 16th season, unveiling 15 brand-new performances. This upcoming schedule promises a vibrant collection of high-profile musical acts, impressive touring theatrical productions, and captivating tribute shows, alongside dedicated educational programming. General manager David Mitchell described the lineup as one of the most exciting in the center's history, made possible by increased flexibility in programming choices.
The diverse offerings span various genres, including classic rock with performances by Kansas and Three Dog Night, country music from Sawyer Brown, and acclaimed tribute artists. The center will also host major touring productions such as the six-time Tony Award-winning musical 'The Music Man' and the 30th-anniversary tour of 'Riverdance.' A special launch event, 'You've Still Got a Friend: A Musical Tribute to the Friendship of Carole King & James Taylor,' is also on the roster.
Holiday cheer will be abundant with shows like 'Dolly Parton's Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol' and 'O Christmas Tea.' The center continues its commitment to education through the 'PACK the PAC' initiative, making select tickets available for just $20, and offering students unique opportunities to perform alongside professional artists. Additionally, a 'Cloud Club Seating' promotion provides select balcony seats at $20.
The season also includes a cultural event, 'Passport to Brazil,' featuring music and cuisine. Significant sponsorship from the Tuscarawas County Community Foundation and other local entities underscores the value of the arts in the community. Tickets are available for purchase online, by phone, and at the PAC box office, with member pre-sales ending June 25 and single-show tickets on sale June 26.
