This joint appearance follows Rutherford's difficult custody battle with Hermès' father, Daniel Giersch, which resulted in her children living with him in Monaco. The actress reflected on this "heartbreaking time" but stated she focuses on the positive, maintaining a strong relationship with her kids.

Rutherford relocated to Monaco to be closer to her children and has since focused on rebuilding their bond. She shared that while teenagers naturally seek independence, being there for them when they need her remains crucial. She embraces the natural process of her children growing up and living their own lives.
