More than two decades after winning the inaugural season of American Idol, Kelly Clarkson has revealed she never received the car prize she was promised. During a recent appearance on her talk show, Clarkson shared with The Traitors winner Rob Rausch that she relates to his experience of not yet receiving his cash prize. Rausch won $220,800.
Clarkson explained that American Idol provided her with an investment rather than the expected $1 million cash prize. She also stated that despite being promised a car, which she needed due to her own vehicle being damaged and her inability to afford a deductible, she did not receive it. Jordin Sparks, who won season six, confirmed on 'Today' that she did receive her car, adding, 'I hope they give her one now.'
