In June 2025, Kehlani released their hit song "Folded," which has since seen a significant boost in popularity. Last month, the artist dropped an Homage Pack EP featuring remixes of the track with collaborations from renowned R&B artists such as Toni Braxton, Brandy, JoJo, Mario, Ne-Yo, and Tank.
The remixes have helped "Folded" surge seven spots on the all-genre songs tally. The song has also achieved Kehlani's first top 10 placement on the Streaming Songs and Radio Songs charts, as well as their first number one on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot R&B Songs charts.
Kehlani, who spoke about the song in a recent Billboard Family interview, expressed confidence in the track, stating, "I just really thought it was a really cool way to come back into music after I hadn't put out music for a while." The artist also revealed they are currently working on a new album set to release next year.
Prior to the success of "Folded," Kehlani's highest-charting song on the Hot 100 was their feature on Cardi B's "Safe," which peaked at number 26. "Safe" has now reached number one on the Rhythmic Airplay chart, becoming Cardi's 10th leader and Kehlani's second.
