The 2026 BET Awards witnessed a poignant farewell performance from Kehlani as she presented "Folded" one last time in a significant capacity. Introduced by actor Jamie Foxx alongside his daughter, Anelise, the rendition of the Grammy-winning ballad transformed the familiar hit into an ethereal experience.
Accompanied by a full orchestra, with Foxx on piano and Anelise on guitar, Kehlani's performance was elevated by a harpist who lent a dreamy quality. Notably, the songbird revealed prior to the show that this would be her "last hoorah big 'Folded' moment," indicating a shift towards new music while still cherishing the song's legacy.
The performance also showcased a subtly altered bridge/outro, with Kehlani adding the poignant lines, "If I'm good enough/ I'm good enough for you/ You can decide if I'm good enough for you." This lyrical adjustment introduced a fresh layer of vulnerability to the already indelible hit, which was reportedly created "accidentally" when the artist intended to record a different kind of song.
