K-Pop Takes Over LA: KCON 2026 Ignites City

Los Angeles is immersed in K-pop culture this week with KCON LA 2026, themed "Walk in SOUL CITY." The festival officially commenced on Friday, August 14th, at the Los Angeles Convention Center and Crypto.com Arena, extending beyond music to include K-beauty, K-food, and K-story elements, notably the Olive Young Festa K-Beauty Playground featuring 55 Korean brands. Leading up to the main event, HYBE America hosted an industry party on Wednesday, August 12th, showcasing its global roster and artists associated with the upcoming film "K-Pop: The Debut." Meanwhile, YEONJUN of TOMORROW X TOGETHER held a special showcase for Billboard Live.

The KCON festival grounds opened on Friday, August 14th, with various stages featuring multiple artists throughout the day. The evening's programming culminates in the M Countdown concert at the Crypto.com Arena. A structural change for KCON LA 2026 is that daily headliners will perform full hour-long sets, deviating from previous abbreviated festival runs. This year's event continues KCON's legacy as a proving ground for K-pop acts in America, dating back to its inception as a one-day event in Irvine, California, in 2012.
