The Emmy-nominated "Matlock" reboot is back for its highly anticipated second season, with acclaimed actress Kathy Bates reprising her role as the new take on the iconic defense attorney. The series, which debuted last year to glowing reviews from critics and quickly became a hit with audiences, is set to premiere its sophomore season on Sunday, Oct. 12.
The special Sunday premiere will air from 8:30-9:30 p.m. ET/PT, before the show returns to its regular Thursday night timeslot of 9-10 p.m. ET/PT the following week. New episodes will continue to air weekly on Thursdays at 9 p.m., starting with Episode 2 on Oct. 16.
Bates, who has earned SAG, Emmy, and TCA Award nominations for her performance, leads the "Matlock" reboot, which was created by "Jane the Virgin" showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman. The series offers a fresh take on the classic legal drama originally starring Andy Griffith in the 1980s.
