Kate Garraway, the Good Morning Britain presenter, is reportedly developing a close connection with Liam Halligan, a journalist and old friend of her late husband, Derek Draper. The pair were recently seen together in Saffron Walden, Essex, Halligan's hometown. Garraway was reportedly present to watch Halligan's band perform at a local pub.
According to reports, Halligan introduced Garraway to his friends and neighbours during the outing. While sources suggest the pair, who have known each other for two decades, are 'getting cosy', HELLO! magazine understands that no romance is currently ongoing between the good friends, though they are indeed 'growing close'.
Halligan, who is an award-winning journalist and former economics editor, is a friend of Garraway's late husband, Derek Draper. Draper, a former political lobbyist and psychotherapist, died on January 3, 2024, after a prolonged illness with long Covid, which caused significant damage to his heart, lungs, and brain.
Garraway, who has two children with Draper, has previously spoken about the possibility of finding love again, expressing a desire not to go through life without romantic love but admitting she is not yet ready for a new relationship.
