Dharwad's Mangalwarpeth is currently hosting a unique Navratri celebration, featuring recreations of 23 sacred sites from Kashi. This artistic endeavor is led by Kartik Kattimath, an IIT Kanpur graduate and software engineer.
For the past 18 years, Kartik has dedicated himself to this annual tradition, transforming his family's courtyard into a miniature pilgrimage. His elaborate displays meticulously blend devotion, art, and architecture, capturing the essence of Kashi's spiritual heritage.
The Kashika Navratri Utsav showcases iconic shrines like Kashi Vishwanath, Goddess Annapurna, and the 12 Jyotirlingas. These installations provide visitors a profound glimpse into one of Hinduism's holiest cities.
The Kattimath family's devotion to Navratri spans generations. Kartik's fascination with art, evident since childhood, has culminated in this detailed annual undertaking. Daily rituals, bhajans, and aarti further enhance the vibrant devotional atmosphere.
