However, upon learning about the character and the script, Kapoor was captivated by Rita Brown's depth and emotional complexity. She described the character as carrying numerous burdens beyond trauma, finding the portrayal vastly different from anything she had done before. This complexity ultimately persuaded her to accept the role.

Kapoor also spoke about the emotional toll of playing intense characters, noting that roles like Rita Brown, who is an alcoholic and chain smoker dealing with life's challenges, can linger with an actor long after the cameras stop rolling. She has experienced this phenomenon with previous roles, including those in 'Zubeidaa' and 'Shakti'.

Discussing the trend of protagonists with flaws, Kapoor believes these characters are becoming more human and relatable.
