Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian have shared the profound grief of a miscarriage prior to the birth of their son Rocky. In an upcoming Hulu documentary, the couple opened up about their struggles to expand their family.

Kardashian and Barker revealed they were expecting a daughter, whom they intended to name Tulip, but discovered at three months pregnant that the baby no longer had a heartbeat. This loss deeply affected them, leading to days of crying.

Following this tragedy, the couple endured five IVF attempts within an eight-month period. These attempts were taxing on Kardashian's health, both physically and mentally. Eventually, they decided to pause their efforts, which ultimately led to the natural conception of their son Rocky, who is now 22 months old.

Kardashian also recalled the pressure to freeze her eggs and the low success rates, noting that many did not survive the thawing process or reach embryo stage. After the IVF treatments took a toll, she prioritized her happiness and her existing children's well-being. She later became pregnant, not actively trying, about two months after their May 2022 wedding, as it took a year for the IVF hormones to leave her system.

Prior to Rocky's birth in November 2023, Kardashian experienced a terrifying emergency surgery, which highlighted the critical nature of pregnancy care and the limitations of insurance-covered ultrasounds. This experience led her to release the fear and embrace the pregnancy journey ahead.
