In November 2025, renowned Bollywood director Karan Johar revealed his fan-cast for a potential remake of the iconic 1998 film 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'. During a candid conversation with tennis star Sania Mirza, Johar shared that if the classic romantic drama were to be remade today, he would envision Alia Bhatt playing the spirited Anjali, Ranveer Singh as the charming Rahul, and either Ananya Panday or the "younger nepo babies" Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan as the lovely Tina.
Johar also got emotional while reminiscing about his late father, Yash Johar, who was the driving force behind his confidence as a filmmaker. "He thought I was the most handsome boy on the planet, and when 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' released, he thought I was James Cameron overnight," Karan recalled. "He used to tell people, 'Mera beta bilkul director number 1 hai, Hindustan main kya, globally.'"
On the work front, Karan Johar's next directorial venture is the romantic drama 'Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri', starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday. He is also producing the high-concept fantasy-comedy 'Naagzilla', featuring Kartik Aaryan in the lead.
